COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

Should you wish to pursue a complaint against one of our key individuals or representatives, you should address the complaint in writing to us at lisa@mscapitalgroup.co.za, a copy of our complaints procedure is available on request.

If you cannot settle your complaint with us, you are entitled to refer it to the Office of the FAIS Ombud, at info@faisombud.co.za or telephone number 086 032 4766. The Ombud has been created to provide you with a redress mechanism for any inappropriate financial advice that you feel may have been given.

POPI and PAIA

POPI (Protection of Personal Information)

The right to privacy is constitutionally entrenched in the South African Bill of Rights in section 14 of the Constitution. There are various pieces of legislation that implicate the right to privacy. The Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPI), deals with data protection.

 

PAIA (Promotion of Access to Information)

PAIA is another right in terms of the Constitution which provides for the right of access to information, particularly when such information is required for the exercise or protection of any rights. This right is subject to certain limitations, including grounds for refusal set out in PAIA. It aims to foster a culture of transparency and accountability in public and private bodies by giving effect to the right of access to information.
